Good Morning It's Finally Tax Free Weekend Friends!!! Laurie here. Florida's tax free weekend has officially begun and runs through the 6th. You can take advantage of the savings here at Sassy Seconds so get your buns down here !!! Items exempt from sales tax include clothing, handbags, shoes, belts and scarves; but each item must be $60.00 or less to be exempt. We've gotten in several pieces of Joseph Ribkoff and Eileen Fisher in pristine condition that you'll have to se...e to believe! Judy and Margaret pictured below and Barb and Kitty, also pictured, bought gobs of items yesterday and today and they were nice enough to model them for me (which is my joy)!
Also, Sassy Seconds has been nominated for the Best of Award in the Mount Dora Buzz! Please go online to the Mount Dora Buzz and it will walk you through to their Best of Ballot and you can cast your vote for "Best Women's Apparel Store" , and if we fit in any other category, please place us there too (we can only be in two categories). The deadline for voting in The Buzz is August 7th so please hurry! We have also been nominated in The Daily Commercial for their Best of Award so please go to their website and vote there as well! That deadline is August 25th. We love that we were nominated but unlike what anybody usually says, we want to win!! :) :) So Google and Vote! Oh, and for Heaven's Sake get over here and shop! Greetings My No Way It's Almost August Friends! Laurie here. Last week I posted some photos of some rockin' purses we have at the store. Well, now we have one less as Ada (a/k/a Nana) bought a "just in" Louis Vuitton handbag in mint condition for her Granddaughter! Friend Marcy and daughter Karin did some shopping too so a great time was had by all. I asked Nana to adopt me before she left but it was not to be... Anyway, I have probably 8 more handbags I am getting read...y to price and put out so get here as soon as you can and get the picks of the litter! There is a Michael Kors handbag that keeps calling my name so you'd be doing me a great favor by getting it out of my sight! My husband agrees with me :). We also have more Coach and Dooney & Bourke bags that will hit the floor today. So, I look forward to seeing you soon but until then... Cheers!

Good Afternoon My Why is it so Blasted Hot in May Friends! Laurie here! It's been a bit since my last post so I took some snaps of some of our latest and greatest items! We've got classic, patriotic and whimsical purses I know you'll like. The Michael Kors purse is a great size; large but nowhere near as large as the one your great Grandma carries! You can fit army boots and the kitchen sink in those :). The fringe American Flag purse is very cool as is the Betsy Johnso...n Crossbody purse that sports heart shaped sunglasses :). We have also gotten in more Brighton jewelry but it's going fast so get moving! Spring dresses are plentiful as are spring and summer hats! We received almost 20 brand new, and you'll wish you had one when you're staring at your lobster reflection in the mirror after your first beach day :(. Remember, Sassy Seconds carries all sizes so come check us out if you haven't already, and if you have, well for Pete's Sake come see me!! Cheers! Laurie

Greetings my Almost Friday Friends! Laurie here. Just a reminder that we have a fresh supply of biker gear here at Sassy Seconds just waiting for you! I don't own a motorcycle, but I'm buying this groovy Harley Patch anyway! Who says you actually have to ride to enjoy the duds?! Also, we have select classic St. John Knits on sale for 50% off this weekend only. After that they are out of here! Our Sassy friend Diane stopped by today and I insisted that she pose for a picture with her sassy rescue dog who just happens to be named... you guessed it - Sassy! So it's been quite the sassy day around here but I'm ready to head for home. We'll open tomorrow at 10 and look forward to seeing you then! Cheers!

Greetings and Happy Almost Wednesday my Sassy Frassy Friends!!  Laurie here.   As some of you may know, Bike Week in Daytona starts this Friday, March 10 and goes through March 19th. What does this mean for our fair city? It means we are going to hear the roar of some mighty cool motorcycles as they check out Mt. Dora on one of their sides trips from the beach! Sassy Seconds is going to be ready to welcome them with some amazing biker apparel including jackets, vests, chaps, gloves, shirts, belts, pants, helmets and more! Starting this Saturday we'll have a table in front of the shop dedicated to all things motorcycle, so whether you are a real biker, or just play one on TV, please come by and check it out, then come on it the store and see all of the new spring and summer items we've put out this week. Good Monday Morning my Not Ready for the Weekend to be Over Friends!

Laurie here. I was dragging when I got into Sassy Seconds this morning but good fortune shined on me when new customers and now friends Nina and Wendy walked in to perk me up. They'd been on a long walk when Wendy's flip flop broke! Fortunately they remembered passing Sassy earlier in the morning. It took Wendy about 3 minutes to find 2 pair of shoes, and then she took a great looking Coach bag and several pieces of jewelry off of my hands! Thank you girls for shopping Sassy, and for your hugs and positive thoughts. They were much needed today as I shared with you, and as you said, there was a reason you came in and we met! I love this town and I so appreciate the friends I have made in this store. It keeps me smiling! Hope to make a few more friends today so come see me! Cheers!

Good Afternoon Sassy Mt. Dorians and Beyond! Laurie here. We had a great weekend here at Sassy Seconds and want to thank those who stopped in to shop after braving the crowds at the art festival. A good time was had by all! I want to remind our customers that we have some amazing first run leather pieces from Europe here at the shop including pants, vests, jackets and boots and let me tell you, they feel as soft as "butta" ! The Harley Davidson motorcycle jacket pictured with the black leather pants is not one of the items from Europe but it is very cool and needs a forever home! Good Afternoon My Funky February Friends! Laurie here. The new year is flying by and we are already creeping up on Valentine's Day! Here at @Sassy Seconds we've decided to kick off Art Festival Weekend with a Red Sale! All solid red items in the store will be 15% off and we have several great pieces including those pictured. Remember Valentine's Day isn't just a day for "couples".... It's a great time to let all those you love know it, and to show yourself some love!! I'm letting my husband know I love him by taking the burden of finding me a V-Day gift right off of him! I know he'll appreciate it and I already have a shirt here in the store I have my eye on. Good Afternoon my Fun and Fiesty Friends! Laurie here. Owner Robin is finally feeling better after some wicked health issues so all is now well at @Sassy Seconds! You just have to come check us out this week. We have gotten in several almost new Coach purses (pictured) as well as Dooney & Bourke, Brighton, Liz Claiborne and more. We also have a few more pieces of Brighton jewelry that will go quickly as always, and so much more. We'll be open at 10 tomorrow and I'll have some great tunes playing on my Bose to get you dancing as you check out the goods! See you then! Cheers :).

Good Afternoon My Frisky Friends! Laurie here. Admit it, this chilly weather gets you in the mood....for shopping :) :)! You have got to get down to Sassy Seconds! First of all, the City cut down the huge oaktree out front that was unfortunately dying and dropping large branches, leaving just the stump. It certainly opens things up out front and we are enjoying perching our sandwich board on it! Also, we have some amazing new and consigned jewelry, scarves, etc. that will make perfect holiday gifts. Our friend, local artist Bill Chelseth, has a wonderful showcase of his glass jewelry here at Sassy and I have pictured some of it below. The earrings are amazing and he has pendants, barrettes and rings that are just fabulous. Oh, and we have some truly tacky vintage Xmas sweaters that you have to see to believe! Woo hoo! Happy Thanksgiving Eve my Frenzied Friends! Laurie here! Yep the store is open on this beautiful Wednesday and I've already had a great day! Thanks shoppers :). There are still plenty of Sassy items for you so come see me after you clean out Publix. Also quit stressing over the fact that 40 relatives you barely know will be at your door tomorrow bright and early! The store will be closed on Thanksgiving day so we can all overeat, and officially we are closed Friday, but..., since I am staying in town for Thanksgiving, if any of you want to bring your Thanksgiving company to the shop on Friday, just call the shop today and let me know and I'll open it just for you :); 352-930-7988. I live about 3 blocks away from the store so can be there in a jiffy. The store will be open as usual on Saturday from 10 - 6:00 and we will be celebrating Small Business Saturday! Please take a break from Mall and Superstore shopping to "shop local" and support the many small businesses of Mt. Dora! I know this small business would certainly appreciate it! Until then, hold those you love and for whom you are thankful extra close, and let them know what they mean to you, then do the same thing tomorrow...and the next day...and the next. Cheers! Laurie

Hi Dee Ho My Mighty Mt. Dorians and Beyond! Laurie here. I just stepped outside of the shop and durned if it felt a bit cool...well not really cool, but perhaps approaching cool...oh heck it still feels like summer :(. Nonetheless, I wanted to post pictures of the very cool handbag we just got in; a leather hand painted Anuschka! I was unfamiliar with this brand until just a few months ago when we got our first Anuschka handbag that literally lasted about 2 minutes before it sold! This one is in great shape and looking for a forever home :). Give me a call here at Sassy Seconds if you are interested in it : 352-530-7988. We also have Coach, Michael Kors, Brighton (bags, jewelry and shoes) and more so check us out! On another note, we will begin next week closing the store at 5:30 rather than 6:00. I don't know about you, but by 6:00 it's dark out and I'm ready for a glass of wine and/or my PJs! That said, if you ever need me to stay open for you to scoot over for a last minute gift or outfit, just call me at the shop and I'll keep the doors open. Greetings my Scary Spooky Halloween Friends! You're running out of time to find a costume, in fact you just thought of it again when you read this post didn't you??? You can stand hours staring at costumes at the Party Stores or you can call me here at Sassy Seconds, 352-530-7988 and I'll hold one of the custumes pictured until you get here to pick it up! You can choose from our Sexy Mrs. Claus outfit (you could put a sign on your back in true Janet Jackson, (etc....) style that says "Mrs. Claus if you're Nasty!"), or you could be a well dressed Witch in the other lovely outfit pictured that comes with a free witch hat (wart not included)! In addition, I've been putting fall clothing and accessories out all week so come see me today or Owner, Robin and her Mom, Connie tomorrow and Saturday.
